The poetry broadsides included here have all been a part of Words of Courage, a partnership of Seattle Arts & Lectures’ Writers in the Schools Program and Seattle Children’s Hospital, empowering pediatric patients with guidance from poets Sierra Nelson and Ann Teplick. They have been produced with guidance of Partners in Print and previously at the School of Visual Concepts.
I have printed nine broadsides from 2013 through 2022. Each year’s broadside collection is encased in hand-bound hard shelled portfolio cases. The people that make up Words of Courage including the young poets, fellow letterpress printers, the poets who guide us all through this process, and the organizations and business that support our efforts truly make this a powerful collaboration.
