I love climbing and getting outside and often illustrate the places I’ve visited in my home state of Washington and beyond. Letterpress allows me to bridge my creative and active pursuits and story-tell my observations outside.
Instead of using multiple plates to print separate colors of ink, I use a technique called reduction cutting where a single plate is carved away with each new impression. This results in a print run that is finite with no possibility of creating a second edition. Each new cut that’s made after successive print runs becomes a bit of a leap of faith.
